The Wealden Hall is over 650 years old, circa 1350, and is located in Larkfield near Aylesford. It’s a building that is full of character and charm and you will find many original workings such as the beams on the first floor as well as three working fireplaces. Added to this the style is traditional inside with part slate flooring and wooden furniture to compliment the age of the building. The current owners took over and re-opened the establishment following a refurbishment in late 2013.

Wealden Hall welcomes a mixed clientele consisting of regular locals simply enjoying a drink, and those looking for a family friendly affordable restaurant for a light lunch, traditional Sunday Roast with all the trimmings or three-course evening meal. The varied main menu and specials board means that there is something for all tastes and appetites and there are regular food and drink offers available, including the 1 2 3 set menu which is available all day every day, where customers pay £5.95 for one course, £7.95 for two courses or £9.95 for three courses, offering exceptional value for money.

In warmer months the large beer garden with it’s feature wishing well is very popular and seats approximately 200 people. The Wealden Hall is also more than happy to cater for celebrations such as birthdays or christenings and offers the facility of a beautiful private function room upstairs.

We dined as a group of four on a Friday lunchtime and were seated next to the huge open fire by our very friendly waitress. The relaxed informal atmosphere immediately put us at ease, particularly as we were dining with children, and after having made our choices we ordered our food at the bar.

Our first courses arrived promptly and were very enjoyable. We plumped for the tapas style starters, which consisted of three starters for £9 which we shared amongst the four of us along with an order of Nachos with guacamole and sour cream and cheese. Our main courses were well cooked and the portions were extremely generous - so much so that we only ordered one dessert.

The food, service and atmosphere are unpretentious and down to earth; this doesn’t pretend to be a fine dining establishment, hence its popularity with families with young children, as well as couples, groups of friends and locals popping in for a beer and bar snack.

The Wealden Hall is perfect for eating out on a budget and a great place for socialising with friends and family.
